I think he's very late Colin - and Mark's dragging his feet a bit as well
However to be serious I think Robert set the trends for a whole host of quiz show presenters who followed in more recent years and they all owe him a great debt of gratitude
If I recall wasn't it Robert who first began the show 'Start the Week' on Radio 4 and he presented it for almost twenty years?
I used to be an avid viewer of his TV quizzes in my younger days and he's certainly a sad loss to all who respect a decent standard of broadcasting _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

RR also did a long running show "Stop The Week" of which I have very fond memories. Saturday evenings at about 6.15 were essential listening! _________________ MiS |

I think he was the original presenter of Points Of View as well.

Helen, you beat me to it! I was about to say that I remember him doing POV - and, particularly, Junior POV in the 60s. On one occasion, a young viewer wrote in to say that she thought the news programmes were boring and repetitive and therefore could the BBC please stop doing them? Robert Robinson pulled a wry, slightly sarcastic smile in response and then carried on with another topic! I'll never forget that - and that came many years before the advent of the BBC News Channel. That young writer saw the future...... |

RIP Mr Robinson. I wish I had half your command of the English language.
