What a great afternoon! The Sleeping Beauty was wonderful entertainment for all ages (I went with a group of adults).
Britt Ekland was quite superb as the wicked fairy and was obviously an experienced panto performer. The heroine was played by Richard and Judy's daughter Chloe who was OK (Mum and Dad were in the audience).
The comic leads were hilarious and took part with two others in a very funny version of The 12 Days of Christmas with common objects such as "4 pairs of pants", "5 watering cans" etc, ending with a doctored "bra which would only hold three". The items were tossed into the audience who chucked them back just in time for the right cast member to sing his line. They were tearing all over the stage and my face was aching by the end!
My favourite joke?
Q: Where can a pie be weighed?
A: Over the rainbow.
Cue for song: "Somewhere over the rainbow, Way up high" |
