She was back referring to skinny supermodels as being worse than Belsen survivors today. I know we have been through this before but I still feel this trivialises the Holocaust. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I think the point that she is making is that those who survived the holocaust had no choice, whereas these supermodels do. It also brings those images to the fore and asks if self harm has reached the level of man's inhumanity to man. _________________ Geddon

I just wish she would find another simile that is more appropriate and measured.
Oh and please stop asking us to go out and buy the Daily Star to have a good gawp at the offending models as well. How does the Daily Star make it into the "newspaper" review anyway? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

allodoxaphobia
Definition: a fear of other people's opinions
I had to look that up. I think it's some of her unquestioning fans who suffer more from allodoxaphobia _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

It's the paroxysmic parts of her show which unearth her misanthropism: my predilection though is for a show with less sesquipedalianism.
I'm just learning some new words today....... It's fun!
I could make a show out of this: well, very nearly..... |

Its a message board.
Where people discuss Radio 2 shows?
So why shouldn't we COMMENT. Show me where anyone insulted Sarah in this thread? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

gfloyd, please do not feed the trolls. Especially those who use more than one 'o' in 'so' and forget to stop hitting the '!' key. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I think it's a bit unfair to call her a troll, I think she has a point actually. There seems to be an abundance of SK & SW bashing threads and while I don't particularly like either presenter I don't think it's fair to pick holes in everything they say.
Just my opinion, soooooooooooo there |

TTS, I would consider some of the remarks made above to be inflammatory, especially the dig that we all have a go at SK almost "every time she opens her mouth", or the accusation that we're "precious" and "sensitive" without getting to know us better. Ergo - troll, or at least a newbie trying to flame people straight away. There are better and less inflammatory ways of putting your point across.
YMMV.
Anyway, I certainly don't have a go at SK almost every time she opens her mouth. I only really hear the first ten minutes and maybe another ten between 1830 and 1840 so don't often hear the bits that apparently get people fired up.... more's the pity. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Nothing contentious to report today. Robbie pushed the super models off the front page. Not hard to do that when they are a size zero. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |
