It's been a few weeks since he started.
Has he settled in yet?
Only caught bits of it while driving.
Found far too much chat and innuendo and not enough music.
Your thoughts are as always most welcome _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

Hi Mike,
There's a couple of similar threads elsewhere, in one I mentioned my recent shock at how bad the show really was, and somehow inevitably when listening for just 5 minutes the subject of willies came up, too much talk too much laughing at nothing funny.
Because it's on Saturday night the audience will be low, and we could measure it's success by the listen again figures or how many digest the weekly highlights as a download or podcast.
If one searches for the word Brand on this page it's not there!

I'm glad he's on Sat nights when I have no need to listen! Can't abide him at any price, my worst nightmare is the presenting team for Comic Relief: Brand, Evans, Ross, McCall _________________ MiS |

Hi john and Made In Surrey.
Must admit some of the so called COMEDY went over my head and was just plain rambling.
It must be difficult to keep this type of humour funny for 2 hours.
if it was on Channel 4 it may work as it needs to be visual.
each to their own but it's not top of my Saturday list YET!!!!!! _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

I fear for comic relief. They want us to watch and hand over our shekels, but with the line-up that they have, we won't be watching. _________________ Geddon

BGW..you mean that with Lenny Henry,Davina,Wossy and dermot we won't be in stitches?
Maybe you have a point.
Oh i forgot the wonderfully funny Ricky Gervais will have us on the edges of our seats again....Right _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

That's a good point, BGW - there may well be a downturn in donations, because people will be put off from watching. My idea of entertainment does not include the self-adoring and loathsome line-up that CR has promised. _________________ MiS |

MIke & MIS,
I will no doubt contribute in some way, but I won't be watching. It has outgrown ( but not out - matured ) the stuff done for for Amnesty and the early Comic relief. It is now " Look at me - see how funny I am" or " Please massage my Ego - I need to know you still love me"
For me it will be FNIMN while Mrs Geddon watches her soaps _________________ Geddon

That's right - they all should have a sign over their heads saying "I love myself, you must love me too"
From what I've read, Brand's R2 show sounds nauseating - quel surpris!! _________________ MiS |

BGW...you might miss another of those hilarious French and Saunders sketches.
Everyone will be talking about it in the office on Monday.
Although if there recent attempts are anything to go by i will not dare watch.
the concept is good but all these so called funny people in one night does nothing for me instead.
think i'll stick to Midsomer Murders and the News!!!! _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

I occasionally catch RB my mistake - I have to leave the room or turn it off after 5 minutes. _________________ Geddon

From my limited exposure to RB's radio show, he's been struggling to keep it funny for 30 seconds, never mind two hours. Oh well, I suppose Dame Lesley enjoys listening to it. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

That woman has got an awful lot to answer for. Funny how the Evans brigade have kept quiet about him losing listeners this quarter... _________________ MiS |

I'd shorten the above statement to just two words. I suspect many of you will be able to work out which ones they are. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

That's because they've converted the the text into a picture, so the searches don't recognise it as text - I think you'll find Russell Brand is at 22! Also noticed that Steve Wright in the Afternoon is on there. _________________ Fred Hart

He is getting worse I think. Up to the news at 11 he said 88.91 fm news news news. He just dosn't really care about how to conduct a proper radio show. |

He's now so far below my radar he might as well be underground. Parcel him off back to 6Music, please, so I can enjoy my Saturday evenings again in peace.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”
