I notice there are a few Togs on these boards. Do you know of any famous Togs? Not being a regular listener to Terry, I am not aware of all the vocabulary, but when ever I hear about Togs I think about the American singer-songwriter Beth Nielson Chapman.
I saw her in concert a few years back, & she kept talking about Terry Wogan in between songs, & declared herself a TOG!

Well now, I know some Togs that are famous, but I don't know any famous people who happen to be Togs |

There is of course, Terry's producer who was named by an American tog as Beryl Ann Boyd _________________ Geddon

If TOGDOM culd be conferred Posthumously, then The Name Of Eva cassidy would be among the brightest. _________________ Geddon

It makes me wonder how Terry would fill in the 2 hours without all these regular contributors.
With the Janet/John episodes and listeners anecdotes the show DOES pretty much revolve round these.
Yes some stories are entertaining but what would he do without this input? |

Terry's banter does revolve around the input from listeners - he feeds off it and feeds it in turn. Chances are that if the input dried up, he'd retire as he wouldn't find it fun anymore, although as long as he's prepared to keep going and the audience figures stay buoyant, these contributors will continue to send stuff in. They're good, mind you - I couldn't think of such wonderful material that early in the morning! _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Terry will be the first to admit that it is the input from listeners that keeps his show going but it is the way he delivers which makes it funny so it works both ways. |

A few years ago I saw Terry's radio show being televised for a week. He was just doing his usual stuff with Pauli there as well. I thought it was fascinating and it showed Terry really just made it up as he went along.
Am I the only one who's seen that? |
