I've not heard anything but I'm sure someone will post when it's been announced!
Of course it's all different this Wednesday so you'll be safe, he's not on until 12'clock!

It's the Assistant Producer, Day, who's left the Breakfast Show to work on Strictly Come Dancing. |

Thanks Ian, I think he did some work on Bill Kenwright's series last year.

It was never supposed to be and I very much doubt that they can afford to move anyone else now with the freeze on the licence fee.
I think if the decision had been made about any move at all in this decade, no one would be moving!

Although everyone on here knows my dislike of Mr Evans quite frankly I think the whole thing is ridiculous - political correctness gone mad
I don't think he was in any way intending to be racist in his comments - it was just his idea of a joke and as we all know he's not very good at jokes, in fact he's almost as bad at jokes as he is at presenting a decent breakfast show _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I agree, there's nothing remotely 'racist' in what Evans said. Some people seem to want to pretend racism exists where it often doesn't.
A year ago, during the World Cup in South Africa, referring to the background noise of the vuvuzela, Evans said 'typical, give the locals a couple of quid and they go and buy a bloody trumpet'. He was accused of 'racism' but most normal people found it quite funny, me included. |

I agree with you both about this silly idea that it was racism.

IMO this is the best move JS could make.....
It's like going to work every day where you get bullied by your boss and being spoken to like a piece of dirt - wanted to put a different word in there - and having to put up with it.
I hope the truth outs itself eventually. |

Aviddiva and Angus, we know you don't like Chris Evans but please grow up!!!
If JS didn't like the way he was treated by CE then I'm pretty sure he is old enough and ugly enough to tell him surely?
Stop trying to make things fit in with your own agendas please.

He's had a reputation in the past, but Evans seems genuinely well-liked by all his Radio 2 colleagues right now.
I expect Johnny didn't want to move to Salford with the rest of the Sports Department, and that may have been more instrumental in him leaving. |

Thats all speculation about who's moving to Salford. In the end it does mean those who broadcast from Salford, wont up roots and move there familes too. It's proabrly cheaper option staying in a hotel and travelling back home on a Friday and a train back on Sunday or Early Monday. |

Must be the most boring bit of radio ever, people who have paid to be on the radio, driving cars the listener can't see, how self indulgent |

Made my day....
I remember last year it was Graham Norton standing in at the same time. It is my birthday on 5 July and it was so good not to be shouted at....said so on a thread on the radio 2 message board......
I suspect it is back to shouting tomorrow....... _________________ I like hedgehog crisps |

We were musing about this yesterday. I said that if Evans did go, they'd only replace him with Alan Carr. So there'd be no gain for us _________________ MiS |

Hi Hedgehog
Sadly I think he'll be here for a long time to come. It's the top show on the nation's top station so anywhere else would be seen as a downward move. )

There was a report in The Telegraph this morning of an MP calling for Evans & Moyles to take big salary cuts so as to save local radio. There may be hope yet. |

I was just looking at the R2 schedule and realised that it is back to 'normal' after Xmas, and yet I am nowhere near as exercised about my bete noirs - Feltz, and Evans - as I have been in the past. And the reason for that is that I've given up.
Where I might have occasionally tried them in the hope that things had improved I realise that I now avoid the shows altogether and have simply stopped listening. My habits have changed, and I've completely moved away from R2 before 930.
Supporters will point to listening figures as validation for these new shows but I would ask how much better they might have been if R2 management had tried to retain it's existing audience at the same time as attracting new listeners. It seems that they decided 'new' and 'existing' were two mutually exclusive groups and a trade off that was worth making.
Well done. _________________ "There are more of us now......that makes us right" |

I'm like you Tricky, I know the shows you mention will not change so why bother? Life's too short to endure their offerings. I don't switch on until Ken Bruce starts and usually miss the first half hour.

Me also - I think that sadly Ken loses a large number of listeners for the first half hour thanks to what goes before quite simply because the alternative tends to be commercial radio (and in my case The Golden Hour on Smooth) and these shows tend to end on the hour rather than the half hour
As far as I am concerned they might as well just give Ken a slightly later start _________________ Are you ready for a Ruddles? |

I’m back from my very nearly 11-month tour of Europe, Africa , Asia and the Sub-Continents, and what better topic to come back to than one I started many-many months before I left. I love the way the world moves on. Everything changes but everything stays the same. Is that a song? Perhaps. I like the morning line-up, Fuzzy Feltz followed by Captain Chris- tis brilliant! |
