|

I have been off sick this week & tuning in to Drivetime with Simon Mayo & all i heard was endless chatter
Did he play a single record?
Chris may be a bit loud, but he does play records! Radio 2 is a music station, after all! |

At least he talks and doesn't shout at you and yes he does play music. I certainly won't be celebrating the return of messrs Wright & Evans next week. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

To be fair - he stayed to the same format as Chris and there were the same amount of records. The only difference being they were better records.
Looking forward to Chris' return mind. |

Yes, I much prefer him when he's not trying to be Chris Evans - he was much better and more relaxed filling in for Ken Bruce. _________________ Ron |

I've enjoyed him, but as I'm a regular listener to his Radio 5 show I don't really mind him having a natter. At least what he says is worth listening to.
Anyway, he's back in the slot in October so I look forward to that. |

As alternative bring in Richard Allinson-just the right balance between chat chat chat and music played.
Solution sorted. |

Ah, did he say that? Looks like they're going for the regular cover as with Johnnie at breakfast then. Shame really, because I don't think Simon quite has the same momentum for that kind of thing - would prefer to see it shared with Stuart, Richard and anyone else than fancies a go just as long as their name isn't Davina. |

He Tweeted it!
Chris might still be off before October though - he's normally on holiday in August (this week's time-off was partly because he'd gone to 5Live to cover the golf) so Stuart or Richard could be standing in some time. |

I'm well out of the habit of tuning in at Drivetime regardless of who's presenting (for obvious reasons) but if there's a lot of talk when Simon Mayo is at the helm at least it will be talk that has some sense to it rather than the unending waffle we get from the insufferable one! _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

Actually... whatever happened to Chris standing in the One Show. Did they not originally say it would be July? |

Yes I also thought Chris Evans was due to appear on the One Show in July. |

Let's hope his non-appearance results from people complaining in large numbers! _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

I didn't hear that Richard Allinson was on standby for the One Show so perhaps Chris wasn't due to appear at all |

Chris is supposed to be covering for Adrian Chiles on the one show when he takes time off. Unless the Drivetime show will broadcast from the one show studios as well? |
