I thought the Breakfast shows with Johnnie Walker were fantastic over the last two weeks covering for Wogan on Radio 2. He would be a good replacement, but I wouldn't think he commit to that at his age. Maybe if he was younger. Anyway I heard he will be back covering again at the end of August. |

I'll second that - two weeks of great music and chat you can connect with. I still think a breakfast schedule where we get two weeks of Johnnie and two weeks of Wogan alternately would be the best way forward - but I know that'll never happen. |

As long as he doesn't include Deadly Boring, JW can stand in when he likes! _________________ MiS |

I would enjoy Johnnie more if Deadly would shut up for 5 minutes. |

Is he the shouty one? If so, then same goes for me. |

Well I love Deadly and I think Johnnie complements him welll - Johnnie's great at making the 'team' work whether it's Deadly, Bobbi, Lynn or anyone. |

I think Johnnie would go for the Breakfast show if he was asked. Unfortunately, I can't see that happening.
I just hope Wogan keeps going for a long time, taking more and more holidays - they could do 6 months of the year each |

Must agree that Johnny's shows were excellent.
I can't see the problem with deadly at all, I think Lynne sounds good too, she somehow seems more able to be herself.
I used to love Terrys shows before the playlists took over.
Then I realised it was more the great music and the banter with Pauly and Fran that I used to enjoy more than anything |

I agree about Pauly, it's almost like the heart has been ripped out of the show. Although he appears to have a very good relationship with Alan Boyd I think Terry still misses Pauly, it was a massive loss for him. |

Very true. A while back I drove past the entrance to the Golf Club of which Pauly was president (is it East Herts or something?) and I immediately thought of the on-air stories they would regale us with about their weekend exploits on the course, and in the bar afterwards.
Terry's show which he devoted to Pauly was very poignant and very sad. Paul was one of the "old school" of BBC radio producers who loved what they did and it's very evident when Terry refers to him. On the rare occasion that I listen to the show, that is. _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

Seconded. He's being marginalised, for sure. _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |
