Prune Juice!
Regular listeners to Drivetime are now and again introduced to a super-food, type of exercise or regime that is good for one’s body. As the weeks turn to months and years: all of the little Drivetime health-tips, when combined, create a whole new lifestyle.
A while ago it was Pomegranate Juice – I’ll try that I thought – it was yummy. Then there was Prune Juice – I’ll try that I thought – it was (almost) yummy, there’s the Plank and of course Laughing Yoga. Point Steak – caused a near riot in the Butcher’s shop in Dorchester- the result – I’m now one of Big Rob the Butcher’s special customers- he’s always tempting me with bit of his rump. The tips are too numerous to mention them all – and that has become the problem because now I’m having to combine Fruit Juices at Breakfast – gone is the plain old Orange Juice, in its place a blend of Prune, Pomegranate and Cranberry Juice. The laughing yoga is fun too – being a yogi (yoga instructor) I’ve always been keen to get my reluctant hubby on the floor – when I did – I near died of laughter at his attempts at the Cockrell. Suffice to say he was a bit miffed that I’d laughed but I was saved later that week when – laughing yoga featured on Drivetime. I wasn’t laughing at you dear-it was therapy- honest darling – see it’s on the radio! …. |

I reckon that my mum has been secretly giving him tips - she swears by prune juice (in fact I think she's addicted. That and her daily glass of merlot keeps her going - literally!)
It's not as sweet as you think it's going to be - but pomegranate is just as sharp as you expect; if you want something to wake you up at the breakfast table pomegranate and grapefruit should do the trick. My sweet tooth prefers a blend of tangelo and cranberry.

I can just imagine... No. _________________ Ron |

Drivetime changed my life. It forced me to find other things to listen to other than R2 at 17.03hrs weekdays. _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

Same here.
I'm back with Sean Rafferty on R3 though his same questions to all the young artistes night after night is getting cringey. The music is fine though, he plays a good mix of classical, and stuff you don't hear on ClassicFM. |

Same with me too. My refuge from the usual incumbants of midweek afternoon Radio 2 is 6 music. Much preferring Nemone & Steve Lamacq to messrs Wright & Evans! _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Something else to avoid, therefore. Even if it means going without the gorgeous Christine Bleakley. Sacrifices just have to be made! _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

Chris hosts the Sony Awards in place of Gambo on Monday 11th May. Richard Allinson and Margherita Taylor are presenting the live webcast. |

Reflective of the general state of UK radio today? (ie: "dire").

I'm pleased for Chris and the whole Drivetime team, well deserved awards.
But how Miranda Harts joke shop even got nominated is ridiculous. And the comment from the panel is just as baffling "This radio gem was a revelation." _________________

Last night's ARF Drivetime was something else.
Led Zeppelin's Rock n Roll ....so good they played it twice! here it is...

I was air guitaring and air drumming as I did a funny sort of sideways moonwalk up and down our kitchen, all at the same time as making tea..... then I had to do it all over again..... cool beans! Did I hear mention of a Drivetime OB in few weeks.....
reminded me a little of Status Quo.. again and again..... here it is.....

Yeah - something about Donnington Park.... and then later in the autumn, Blackpool.
Meanwhile Radcliffe and Maconie are about to embark on a walk of Hadrian's wall, doing live shows at different stages over a week in September.
Sounds fun. |

Do you know, there are times when I just wish I was a fly upon your wall, Rach (Not that you'd allow such a thing in your kitchen!)
Reminded me that Heart did a pretty good live version of Rock and Roll

An OB in Donnington Park? Well, they could use some good publicity at the moment but the traffic is around Drivetime. And Blackpool - he switched their lights on a few years ago, didn't he? _________________ Ron |

You’d like it in my kitchen, Ron- it has a really slidey floor if you’re wearing socks and it’s really long so you can do that run and slide on your knees thing that kiddies do at Weddings……..
Gosh, last night we had the humble but honourable Orange Juice. I’m gonna have to add it to the mix. |

Thanks for posting the Zeppelin link Rach.. now I have broadband I can actually watch these things!! I looked at your Nolans link the other day and enjoyed that too.
What pleased me most is, I went on from the Zeppelin link to Ginger Baker ( Cream's drummer - just in case.. ) and had a very enjoyable half hour watching for me, unseen footage of my hero! _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Last night it was Vinegar!!! Not sure that I’ll try this top tip for keeping slim. One of my brothers has a Friday night pub habit of drinking jars of mussels – vinegar as well…. he’s 22 stone! His nickname is “ The Big One”. Not because of his enormous size, oh no, people wouldn’t be that cruel would they? No, it’s because when he went to Blackpool – he went on The Big One at Pleasure Beach- it broke down half way up- it took ten firemen to get him down. |

As as been said it has changed my life, I listen to drive on 5 live now and have done for sometime, anything but the garbage served up at 17.05 on Radio 2. Simply the worst thing on radio, bring back JW! |

Hello PG
it's good to know there's other stuff out there for those who don't like Radio 2 all the time. Did you hear Chris Evans on 5 Live doing the Open Golf thingy last week? |
