Oh no he isn't..
it's Edmund Gwenn or Kris Kringle from Miracle on 34th Street... The US Post Office said so. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

I do believe that the post has now been taken up by Lesley Douglas - Lapland felt that Christmas had become far too dominated by the adults and needed someone who could get the kids back on board. |

I didn't think there was anyone in the country who didn't already know about Ask Elvis, that hilarious and cannot-be-heard-too-often feature of the equally hilarious Steve Wright show.

Ask Elvis was on Thursdays show. He was a such a laugh. Although I do think it's getting a little tired now as people know who he really is. Maybe Steve should do Ask Marilyn Monroe |

I must admit I didn't know who is is... and, I think it's a little silly for such a great show. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

But SW likes being 'silly' and it does suit him. All harmless fun and we can certainly do with that in our lives...
However, perhaps Elvis has had his run and could be varied? Nothing wrong with a guest appearance now again though... |

Mitch Benn is well-known to fans of Radio 4's The Now Show, and has also appeared on Radio 2's Jammin' and BBC1's The One Show. He's brilliant live! |

Talking of R4, I have just been listening to Punt and Dennis on R4...
Absolutely brilliant version of Hallelujah right at end of program if you want to listen again...
Refrain along the lines of Why do the have to ruin - Hallelujah? |

Although I hate the concept of X-factor and there constant use of cover versions to appeal to the masses, I have to agree it's not a bad cover, much better than Leonas Run, but no where near as good as Leonards or Jeffs Versions.
I was interested to see how much the x-factor single is being plugged in the shops, in WHSmiths it appeared to be the only single they had in stock . All clever stuff by Mr SC. |

Though it does appear that Jeff Buckley's version is going to reach the number 2 position in today's charts.
As for Wogan's Drummer Boy - it seems he's sort of disappeared. |

You mean Wogan dropped to Number 13 - Jeff Buckley has come second place (with Leonard Cohen's version somewhere further down) - I presume L.C gets royalties for all three versions so good for him. |

I actually had in mind the "Christmas specials" like Wogan, but would add anything 'plugged' just to keep something else down.
However as someone who normally only listens to music on radio or internet spending money is usually reserved for classical where uninterrupted time requirements are somewhat longer.
The desire to own a piece of music is a strange one for me to appreciate, but we all have our own tastes etc. |

I read this on the net...
Simon Cowell, is currently reaping the rewards of this year's Christmas chart-toppers. Not only is he enjoying the profits of X Factor winner Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah, his company also owns the rights to the Jeff Buckley's version and the original by songwriter Leonard Cohen. |

So I wonder who decided that 'Hallelujah" would be the song that the winner should release just before Christmas??? |

What a complete and utter farce.
I am sure I'm not alone in rueing the day X Factor was commissioned, it really is all just a sick joke. Peter Kay's brilliant spoof, updated last Friday, was just superb, but if anything understated. We were saying how good it would have been if Geraldine McQueen's single had been Christmas No. 1! _________________ MiS |

At least all these re-releases should mean some extra royalties for Leonard Cohen. I read that he was in dire financial straits after being swindled out of a major part of his earnings by an unscrupulous agent.
So there is something good to come out of X Factor! |

Yeah, it's a farce but it's just a bit of fun - and doesn't it make the rest of us feel better and self-righteous for appreciating good music instead... |

I just sat and laughed from beginning to end! That Peter Kay is truly gifted and it needs people like him to highlight the idiocy of the 'reality'. |
