been listening to desmond Carringtons show. Missed the first 15 mins. But what a cracker! I may listen to the start on listen again
Something of a space theme- great to hear bowies space Odity again & Elton Johns "Rocket Man"
Hillarious song, really, in which he discusses the virtues of raising your kids in outer space as if talking about suburban surrey
A great version of across The universe |

Carrington picked up on another absurdity in the lyrics "It's just my job, five days a week"
And i wonder what astronaughts ,make of the line "All this science, i don't understand" |

Didn't 'Space Oddity' sound a little different to what you usually hear on the radio? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Yes, it was the original 1969 single mix. I'm not a Bowie expert, but I understand that the more familiar version, which made No 1 in 1975, was from the album, and was longer.
It's at about 33 mins on Listen Again, and an "original video" is on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D67kmFzSh_o _________________ Ron |
