Allinson is currently sitting in for Evans. Can't stand the sarcy bugger but I post this for the benefit of all the fans of the dope who go weak at the knees whenever he so much as utters a syllable on the radio ............... |

maybe my prayers have been answered.
Allinson seems to have been on R2 more than anybody else.. who.. wouldn't normally be .. on.
anyway, I agree with Arcader.. _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

If he just had a regular show, even only a weekly one, then the comments would stop. There's obviously plenty of people like me who enjoy listening to him.

Richard Allinson was perfect for Saturday afternoon listening in our house, but then Ms Douglas went and ruined it all! |

Hi Phil
No, Richard says he is in for SK in the morning and that Drivetime will be back to it's usual low standard tomorrow night
Mark - as to why CE isn't there - do we care

If you listen to beginning of the show and the talky bit between Richard and John Marsh, I think it was a roof problem.. |

Allinson rocks.
This is how Drivetime show be-no shouting, good music played and an excellent way to see us home contented, secure and happy.
Sadly back to Evans tomorrow-like a great many folk I won't be listening. |

That's very true, but there are also plenty who like reading The Sun and listening the Steve Wright. |

Hmmmm, nope. Whenever Allinson comes on the radio I just feel like strangling the smug little sod.

Evans is far from my ideal choice for Drivetime, but he is at least easier on my sanity centre than Richard 'smug, smary, sarcastic bastard' Allinson. |

Arcader-Your stimulating posts-not- might be feel likewise.
Try a little more tact/thought into what you post.
Remember RA has a very big fan base-I'm one of them and as this is a message board all opinions count. |

Arcader's comments are as relevant as yours however unsavoury you might find them.
Chris Evans also has a big fanbase... |

Arcader, I am more than happy to agree with you, re Bob Harris. However we'll have to agree to disagree about Richard Allinson, who I'm sure could name his father if asked. My opinion of Evans is akin to your's of Richard Allinson, but despite this, I still wouldn't accuse him of not knowing his father. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

Regular Drivetime listeners know exactly where Chris was yesterday ... cos he told everyone where he would be, if only he could arrange a "day off"... so there..... ... you just have to listen.
Richard is and was, perfect as ever..... |

Was he taking his first solo yesterday? I thought I read somewhere on here that he was going for his NPPL. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Is there any need for personal attacks? As a lot of people know I'm not keen on Chris Evans, but I don't stoop so low as to make it personal.

They're no worse than some of yours. Now I'm no fan of Steve Wright, but your post of 7th January this year is at least as 'bad' as mine. Here's what you had to say:
"Good god.
If this is considered newsworthy then I am glad to be back in the world of work and NOT subject to this arse broadcasting daily on BBC Radio 2.
Steve Wright is just about fit to clean the toilets at the BBC- nothing more imho."
I rest my case M'lud. |

This quote doesn't make you any better than Mark, though, does it Arcader?
Voicing your preferences is acceptable but the personal comment about his parentage totally oversteps the mark, which is what QS, not Mark Mayhew commented on.

Okay then, I retract my statement about Allinson's parentage and will just resort to calling him an arse.
Happy now? |

No, why can't you just say you don't like listening to him on the Radio - after all, you don't know him personally, do you?? - or has he done something to you personally to make it reasonable for you to call him names?
I don't like Chris Evans style of presentation - but I don't understand why people have to resort to insulting his hair colour.
I just avoid listening to Drivetime, unless the lovely Stuart Maconie, Bob Harris or rarely, RA cover for him.

Not as far as I'm concerned.
However, this is the only thread I have looked at that has personally insulted anyone, which is why I have had my say.

Fair enough but I have read insults about other presenters on other threads. Have always thought it unecessary myself, I mean not everyone likes the same things but there's no need to be rude.
God knows there's enough sh*t in this world without adding to it just because a certain presenter is not one's cup of tea.
