Apologies for this not being about Radio 2 but can I just recommend the show Pirate Radio Skues.
This is broadcast on Sundays from 21.00 till 1.00.
The show includes music from the pirate radio days but also has archive shows featuring some of the old pirate DJ's
I'm not quite old enough to remember the shows myself but they sound great, with great music and some great jingles.
I listen on Radio Cambridgeshire but if you're not in the area the show is broadcast across most of the Eastern Counties including their websites. |

Is this a reference to DJ Keith Skues, who became an announcer on R1 and R2 but may subsequently have gone back to piracy? He was known as Cardboard Shoes.

Keith was also one of the dj's on the recent ( and superb ) Pirate Radio Essex broadcasts from the Lightship LV18 along with Johnnie Walker and Rosko.
Keith was great! I remembered his voice straight away when I heard it.
Heck, do I miss those days..... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07
I have heard how radio should be. |

Yes it is Ian,
The one and only cardboard shoes.
He used to do shows every night on Eastern Counties, but sadly his shows were knocked down to just weekends and then just Sundays. |
