Either Nigel Ogden or Elaine Paige would be ideal. Failing that, if they turn down the gig, Alice Richardson. |

Rick Wakeman. He's hilarious on Planet Rock.
Apart from 3, what a dowdy bunch of hombres above... _________________ Johnnie Walker read out my message on Pirate Radio! 13/8/07

Rick Wakeman is a superb raconteur and very, very funny, with some great stories to tell about the rock biz during the late 60s and 70s. I've often thought he should be offered a radio show (although I'm sure he must have been by now). |

I can't see that working. He's probably the worst possible choice - bound to wind up a lot of people is that one! |

Not with me it isn't! I much prefer radio programming that doesn't patronise me or assume that I'm easily pleased by juvenile on-air antics. |

Nod-I listened to Chris Mon -Thurs this last week.
Thought the shows were very average-musical content very poor. Does Chris have to stick to the playlist-the playlist on Virgin with Suggs and his afternoon tea show is so much better/wider. |

People who are very easily pleased, in my opinion - much the same as there are loads of people who have been inclined to observe grass growing (Big Brother). They're easily pleased as well.
I prefer quality broadcasting! |

I can't stick Big Brother, Jungle, X-factor, 'celebrities' dancing etc. or any of the R2 DJs associated with them |

Ooh tricky question... well not really
if not for the inclusion of one name in your list I'd have said Drivetime is just fine dandy as it is. However, you've put Alex Lester in the list, he's in a different league to the all the others, he's so next level. It was an error to include Alex in your list becuase that leaves no other sensible choice, all the others fade into insignificance compared to Alex. |

Preferably Stuart Maconie but Richard Allinson or Mark Radcliffe would be fine as second choice. |

I'll agree with that in as far as Alex Lester presenting the show goes. Some years ago he proved his worth on that show when he deputised for Johnnie Walker. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

AL would almost be listenable if he'd drop the dire 'odd couple' thing.
Not sure he's mainstream material though. |

I'll third that. Motion carried?!
We could debate all night (and then some) about if it ain't broke (ie the current show). The amount of times features have come and gone in the last 18 months, well, just goes to show. The show's only really settled since the summer and a regular format maintained. The RAJARS have gone up too. Coincidence? Not to worry; Evans will tinker with it again soon... |
