Being of a certain vintage and being able to remember Two-way family favourites. Here's a thing to ponder.
Is Sunday Love songs turning into a 21st Century Two way family favourites, gien all of the requests from Australia etc?

Maybe Steve should stop singing and making fun out of the Parky and pratting around every sunday morning. Is the show supposed to be a light entertainment show, not SLS? |

As soon as 9am Sunday comes round, I'm away to local commercial radio or Classic. I cannot abide SW, but even he excels himself on the scHmooz-fest that is SLS!! Has anyone ever counted the number of times he says "this is SLS with Steve" on one show _________________ MiS |

Steve Wright makes Radio 2 sound like a commercial station! If I had a pound for everytime somebody says "Love the show!" in one of their E-mails or letters then I would be a very rich man by now! |

Man's a bloody amateur. Yesterday he obviously thought that Nina Simone needed his help singing My Baby Just Cares For Me.
Please go away, Essex Boy, and give the job to someone who cares about the music _________________ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. |

Heard a few minutes of this afternoon's shambles. What is wrong with him? He read the news headlines 10 minutes after the 2pm bulletin had finished - does he think he's on a rolling news channel? Then of course we had the obligatory Stones impressions <doh>
Amateurish, cheesy, depressing : PLEASE somebody tell Steve Wrong

It gets right up my nose when they don't give the track details. SW is one of the worst offenders. ( Wow SW and offender in the same sentance- I like that) .... I do like SLS though ... good spud peeling and baking stuff.......... |

They should have got rid of the <edited out> years ago. Mind you, he does have over 6 million "Love the show!" fans out there...somewhere.

Which is, if I'm not mistaken, about 1.18 million more than Evans at Drivetime. He must be doing something right.
Love the show Steve. Keep up the good work!

I even heard Ken Bruce throwing in a 'Love the Show' reference on his Monday show - it's catching fast. When I hear Richard Baker throwing one into "Your 100 Best Tunes" I'll know it's a conspiracy to get rid of SW....

I used to think these were made up, but now I believe there are people crazy enough to actually "love the show". After all people write into Sarah Kennedy asking for her to make more animal noises

I don't think that they do "love the show" Ernie, I think it's more phycological than that. People love , what the show represents for them and that is different things for different people..... you see, if you listen to the show, a show, any show ,while doing something that you really enjoy , then the show becomes associated with you enjoying yourself. If you listen to the show to take your mind off something that you don't enjoy then the show becomes a fix for bad things and therefore must be a good show.
Take me and SLS for example. I listen to that show while I'm preparing Sunday Lunch , so I'm warm , happy and pretty much doing my own thing. SLS is part of that. It could be any show and I'd enjoy it because I'm happy at that time. If the show was really really really bad then I'd listen to something else that fits the mood, so I'd stay happy, that's the trick ........
So you see, it's all in the mind! |

I don't really have a problem with the premiss of the show or even the presenter. I just wish they'd be a bit more adventureous with the songs. There are thousands of love songs and performers out there that would fit into the shows format but they get never played. Instead we get the same out put as for other shows during the week plus a few that seem to (even if they don't really) pop up every week. . |
