Surprised no one has mentioned the stand in's stand in.
Personally I'm amazed that they could find no-one better for the job. Thought drivetime yesterday was appalling. The most boring show ever heard. |

Don't mind the Inverary bird too much, although I did find his comment at the start about Evans a bit harsh.
Think his laid-back tones'd be better suited to depping for Kennedy. More drive is required for Drive! _________________ Who Can Take A Sunrise, Sprinkle It With Dew... |

With Chris not being on last night , I wasn't in such a hurry to leave the office, so didn't get into my car until 17:15 .... popped on the radio and thought blimey! Who is this? All seemed a bit stiff. After a wee while though everything was ok again. Nothing wrong with the show. He's no Chris Evans but who is? Good music and a mention of my favourite place in North East Northumberland, where we used to go swimming in the good old days. So he's ok in my book. |

Well I think he's divine, with a lovely voice, and it's great to be able to put the radio on when I'm making tea, instead of a CD.
I think he's better suited to the lunchtime slot though.

Didn't hear it tonight and whilst I agree it seemed a bit 'stiff' at the beginning yesterday it was a damn sight better than the usual kids party! |

Nah, The radio is tuned in from Terry in a morning, and unless its the horrorscopes, it is not worth the hassle of retuning to 5live or KCFM a couple of minutes before 5. The 2 minutes of torture, they say, is good for the soul. _________________ Geddon

I'm really warming to JI for striving to remove the 'L' that currently resides in the shows title. Even the first 15 minutes so far today beats a week of evans carp, full length tunes, no banal and repetitive banter/ naff music.... It'd be great if evans honeymoon was a couple of month, infinity would be goo too. |

John is an educated, confident indivual with a seemingly vast knowledge of music and an appreciation of a wide variety of musical genres. It has been a welcome relief not hit the CD button in my car this week as I drive home.
I maintain that over a year now since his appointment, Chris Evans is still totally unsuitable for Radio 2 and it's army of long serving listeners, which is a shame because he does play some great music on the show (on the few times I've listened).
I just wish he would drop the kids fanfare rubbish (cringeworthy). Stop interviewing guests by reading questions from a bit of paper without bothering to develop on the answers given. Stop "entitling" each show and playing cheesey retro 80's theme songs, and maybe, just maybe, pop a Ritalin or two before the show starts.
Oh, and just as an aside - I doubt this marriage will last that long either...... |

Actually, yeah, that is a HUGE fault - he never listens to answers and nearly all interviews will sooner or later become a discussion about monetary gain or physical rewards. Even the ones with kids. |
