Reports on other sites that she was mumbling and slurring all through the programme.
She had a wretched sore throat apparently but many people found it too much to listen to.
Richard Allinson is on holiday but surely Aled Jones could have done it.
Some said the paper review was too painful to listen to.
Anyone actually listened? _________________ The Voice of reason in a MAD MAD world |

I heard her this morning, she always seems a bit 'out there somewhere' to me but that may well be my head at that time in the morning. I reckon SK must have set me off in a good mood as managed to listen to the entire Drivetime today - no cowboy tune intro, no groundhog day banter, no here's a hashed up selections of tunes to make a theme, no childrens programme theme tune, no..... oh, maybe it wasn't SKs' early morning presence! |

Check out Page 5 of today's "Times" - the heading article is all about her slurring her way through the programme. It also includes some of her classic quotes from days gone by, such as when she called Ken Bruce "a silly old fool", and referred to the whereabouts of a vicar by saying "where are you, you old prune?". There was also reference to her mentioning that one of the R2 newsreaders had soiled her underwear.... _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I read it in the Express, isn't it good to know there are still some characters on the radio with a personality, not just bland DJs ? |

I'll second that entirely Nod, I just wish her producer was the same, instead of being a total playlist patsy. |

In a fit of patriotism, she may have mailed them all to Iraq & Afghanistan. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Interesting, Mark, that it's posted by Debby Rich, whose fansite for SK borders on the disturbingly obsessive! |

Her performance was so bad that it was actually entertaining for once - and it woke me up I was laughing so much. I genuinely thought she'd been on a bender the night before and hadn't been to bed before dragging herself into the studio. Her speech had all the signs of inebriation - and she was making absolutely no sense whatever. Even the traffic girl didn't know what to make of SK's "jokes" and quickly scarpered after doing her bit.
If she's on "garden leave" I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised. Blimey, even Chris Evans couldn't be that bad even if he tried. (On second thoughts..) |

Hearing the bit again on You tube she was either drunk from the night before or was ill.
I think you maybe correct fire' she was told to take leave as it was getting into every paper and time to reflect on what has happened and sort herself out.
I feel sorry for her if she has problems. |
