She was off sick again last week, but we were ably catered for by Alice Richardson _________________ Geddon

I was being sarcastic during the 25 minutes or so I heard this morning she must have mentioned her illness at least 4 times |

Sorry, Toggy. It's monday morning and I've expended my wakefulness getting into work. Another cup of coffee might just do it. _________________ Geddon

Yes, I heard that, at which point I switched the radio off.
Incidentally, Nemone sounded rather cheesed off/fed up at the end of her stint this morning - it sounded as though she was bored reading out what was on the radio during the rest of today. The bits I've caught of her standing in this week haven't exactly endeared her to me so far, at least Nikki Bedi sounded as though she was happy to be in the studio. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Get Pete Mitchell back. He would happily read the Radio Times for the full 3 hours _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Pete Mitchell-the most underwhelming DJ/presenter on Radio 2. Lesley Douglas must be proud with this particular signing.
Still don't tell Mark Occomore. |

Mark O-Listen carefully to his last couple of outings on Saturdays covering for Dermot.
In short they have not been very good performances-check out other threads on this site about listeners views on him. |

They had better go and check who's hanging around outside the BBC to stand in for the show tomorrow morning |

Why not Richard.
He likes driving through Regents Park early in the morning to get to the studios. |

I think you are wrong.
Richard has no problems with early mornings-consider the number of years he presented the 5am-7am show on Capital Radio. |

She'll be off all next week with salmonella then
Oh, hold on... she'll crawl in from her sick-bed on Monday, though- so she can name-drop all the "celebs" she rubbed shoulders with (ie: got within 40 yards of) at Ascot _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

As they can't show the old 'Go to work on an egg' adverts anymore, will they be allowed to make a new 'Go to the races on an egg' ad? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

I thought Clare Teal did a good job today- particularly considering it was her first ever live broadcast. I'd like to hear more of her. _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

So the BBC are using DJs on national radio who have never done live broadcasts |

And why shouldn't they?
CT did a good job so what's the problem?
When you consider some of the flotsam the BBC have allowed on air recently, I'd consider CT a good find _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

Good ? that's a matter of opinion.
The usual stand-in format is rubbish...listeners texting in drivel to 'handy hints', and the DJ just reading it out..time filling that's what it is.
Why do we get so many stand-in DJ's think this format is good ?. |

Looking on the webcam it looked like she was stuck to the chair. Clare didn't have control over the music or trailers etc. |

I like it when she asked the listeners to email or text her why they are up at that time of morning etc. Was that so she can remove the bad ones from her list? |

Cher, that's so true
Attention focused on the appropriate button as the current track plays- thinking "Push that button next, that one- yep that one.."
Then hitting the wrong one anyway!
Ah the joys of live radio
Once the nerves ease off it's a lot easier- still cock it up from time to time though All part of the fun! _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |
