...because Doctors have been unable to remove Steve and Tim from Paul McCartney's backside.
Good grief! I know he's been a Beatle, but I half-expect even Macca to say "hang on a minute..." |

I was unlucky to hear the first half - if he'd got any further up Paul's backside he'd be wearing him as a wig!
(I also liked the way that SW kept referring to questions he was putting as "people have asked me to ask you".... bleh! ) _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Cant they use the stick with the long hook that they use to remove Tim from Steve's backside every afternoon? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I think it's the first radio interview he might have done since the split. I think Steve was fine asking the questions. It's how he tells them which makes people think he's up peoples backsides? |

It was half-an-hour of Wright telling Macca how brilliant he is and not even listening to Macca's replies before interrupting with another gush. And at the end, after saying goodbye, Tim chips in with "can I just say how great you look?" (I think he was referring to Macca... ) |

I had the misfortune of listening live to this today-simply put truly embarrasing in my ho.
I wrote directly to Lesley Douglas about this interview if you can call it that in addition to a number of other points I wanted to make-she picked up my e-mail.
If Richard Allinson had been in the chair to carry out this interview it would have been totally different/carried out more objectively I feel sure.
What did we learn today -nothing very much I would say. |

I don't see what all the fuss is about Macca anyway- he hasn't knocked out a decent tune in 30 years.... why Radio 2 treat him like some sort of god is beyond me.
I also happen to think he's a sharp pointy object- but that's a personal opinion
Ringo doesn't get treated like a sacred cow, and he was a Beatle too. _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

There was also the casual name-drop. Referring to an interview, Wright said "I read in New Yorker..." - no you didn't Steve! You read it on Ceefax like the rest of us - he actually quoted a 6Music interview. Joined-up-thinking in the Douglas Empire, there...

Sadly Tim is just too far gone. There's very little hope. Rumours that Steve has doubled in size are sadly unprovable because something's blocking the sunlight... |

Did you mention Richard Allinson in the email? I'm sure your email will be noted and passed onto the production teams and producer to see if they can improve things in future interviews. I think that type of reply will be sent |

Believe it or not I wrote to Lesley Douglas about some issues not related to Richard Allinson but now you have mentioned it perhaps I should!!!!!! |

Honestly talk aboiut sour grapes I really enjoyed it and I thought Tim was good
Yeah he hasn't turned out a song for a long time and he has a new album out but I thought the points he made about workiing your way up instead of Pop Idol were very valid.
I like Paul and I know someone who worked for him and he is a very geninue and down to earth guy.
What could have been said that would have made it any different? Why is it that people always have to knock celes whatever they do? Like Paul said so much that isn't true get's published people even say it to him in a coffee shop.

I know someone who knows Paul and he is indeed a very decent guy. I can't say I'm that keen on his later work but I think some of his solo stuf was really good, No more lonely nights for example.
I bet if this interview had been conducted by anyone other than Steve Wright people would have said how good it was, just another excuse for Wrighty bashing it seems to me. |

Nice one Toggy! I agree....
He's one of those people I'd listen too whenever he's on, the man's a complete genius I'd say.
Paul McCartney's great too.... |

The interviews are usually the aspect of Wrighty's show that I most enjoy, but this was just too much! Nothing to do with Macca, who I thought came across quite well. |

I wonder what it'll be like on Jools Holland tonight. I wonder how the two interviews will compare. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

I'm listening to Jools now - a few audible gushes but nothing on the scale of SW's "Order of the Brown Nose", just two professionals having a natter about music. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Jools Holland hasn't been a slouch in the Brown Nose stakes either, as regards 60's soul acts, and Beverley Knight.
Both him and Steve Wright make Fiona Phillips from GMTV seem like Jeremy Paxman! _________________ We made a land where crap is king and the good don't last for long.

Ah, see, Cher, that's where Wrighty slips the net.... it's impossible to mention the words "Steve", "Wright" and "professional" in the same sentence _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

Every time I see the subject title I dream of editing the "Tuesday" out.
Then I read the post and find it really has been cancelled. FOREVER
I think that must be one of the best dreams I've ever had. |

If anyone has a togs calendar, check out Wright's picture on this month's page... and he thinks he has the right to comment on other people's appearance, looking like that???
Beware, though- on the same page are also pictures of Dim Smith and Janey Lee Dis-Grace **PJ shivers with fear** _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |
