yipee!!!!!!!!!
Although I presume you mean Dara Ó Briain will be sitting in for Steve and not a Mr. Brain as in your header. We could have the big Brain show I suppose. As opposed to the no-brain show with Steve............ _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I like him - but I hope he gets to do the show on his own this time, and not with Claudia Winkleman. |

I thought he was good. I liked the way he dismissed half-an-hour of Vine with one sentence!
Also telling was the way he had 3 guests: had one of them been booked for a Wrighty pre-record? |

I would agree with you Toggy, didn't turn it off as thankfully I was not driving much this afternoon & only caught the odd few minutes. Don't know of him as a comedian, however, he is not a competent radio presenter, IMHO. I will agree with Santa & prefer SW to what was presented on R2 between 2 & 5 today.

Did anyone hear Dara say about when he was driving along and Mutya came on the radio.
Half an hour later and it came on again, then again within an hour and he said he had to get off the road before it came on again.
Sally then asked him what radio station it was and he said it was your younger relation.
Sally then said "WE WOULDN'T DO THAT AT RADIO 2."
That's the best joke I've heard in years |

He does turn it more into Talk Radio but thats OK as thats what he does best and he's only on occasionally. I think if he was on more regularly the producer would ensure the balance between chat and music was more balanced (IMO) _________________ Over the hill they came....the greatest Army in the World.....The Tartan Army |

More talk radio than Steve Wright? Is that possible? At least Dara is entertaining. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

You beat me to the question Ernie.....
Dara actually had an amusing conversation with his guests- it beat 3 hours of "Pump-up-the-ego" Wright _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

i liked his interview with brenda blethyn. he asked a question and then ( and this is really important steve!) he LISTENED to the answer without any unamusing asides trying to trump the guests answer. like i said earlier on, a nice change _________________ "Timpani!, Timpani!, They've all got it Timpani!"- All drummers know the pain of skin trouble. |

Yeah, it was almost surreal, being able to listen to what the guest had to say- instead of the usual "oh, aren't we amusing" barking and clapping from SW and the performing seals. _________________ He's not the Messiah- he's a very naughty boy! |

There was too much blarney for me, when ever I listened, which thankfully for me was not too often, he never stopped rabbiting. What I want, in the words of Pete Townshend, is "More Music, More Music, Much More Music".
