I only caught the last half hour today but what in the name of him upstairs was that caravan battleships thing all about?
It dragged on a bit and not only that one of them gave a wrong answer and was allowed to stay in the game.
He gave the impression he will be back next bank holiday Monday too. |

I think he tries to incorporate things related to Top Gear, but they don't seem to work too well. Not a bad programme overall, for a Bank Holiday . |

I like the guy as a presenter and I think he has a lovely voice but these games seem a bit daft, that's Richard though I suppose |

I think Nod is right, I don't really think his top gear themed show is working for Radio 2. I do think it would be much better just doing a different type of show? |

I like Richard H but today's show would have been a disaster without Sally Traffic. She really did save the day.
The caravan thing was the worst competition < cue Clarkson voice> in the world!
The other competition to guess the question and the answer, to what linked some of the tracks being played, was just dumped with nowhere to go cos, they ran out of time.
Apart from Sally T who was brilliant. I imagine everyone else involved ran home with a tape and said, listen mum ... my first Radio show!
Having said all of that, it was quite entertaining... |

Agree with all of the above,
I really enjoyed the show but it seemed like too much in 2 hours. The first hour kind of slipped by then the last hour seemed really rushed.
Loved the banter with Sally.
I look forward to the next show and anticipate lessons learned. _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

Well, considering the way he tried to explain how the game worked during the first hour didn't bode well for the second. He also asked Sally B to help him do the scoring since he was likely to forget.
Caravan battleships apart, the show wasn't too bad. As Mark suggests, he should really find his own style if he's going to continue with R2, rather than trade on Top Gear laurels. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”
