Cheers, Ged - just had a cold shower! Not too bad a show today, nice to see he's brought his 'listen to the music' quiz from Oxford - works really not well but it's good fun! _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

Andy, It doesn't matter that the 'listen to the music 'quiz doesn't work, Everyone seems to be having such fun. _________________ Geddon

Yes, I agree Geddon - I remember although it never worked well on Sunday Oxford, I used to giggle at it.

I'll have to make time to Listen Again later this week - was still on top of a hill this afternoon when he was on. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Didn't hear it all today, working outside at very sunny Mablethorpe, what I did hear was excellent, missed his music quiz, but must be better than the "big quiz". There was a wind farm just across the road, no noise what so ever and it was windy.

Hmm, I can take or leave Allinson, to be honest but I must congratulate him for finally improving his interview technique to the point that it now takes 2 or 3 questions for the guest to be annoyed with him rather than the immediate dislike in the old days. Well done! |

Yesterday he said the records which were played in the oldies, but didn't play the jingle until 2.55pm, did anyone notice that? I think he could have been taking the p a little? I know he does talk about us in his own way and agrees with most of it!! |

What a sad bunch some posters are. Really makes you think why bother contributing to this message board sometimes.
Stop bashing Richard.
If you don't like him then don't listen/tune in and even worse don't come on here with your negative comments repeatedly/time and time again-find something else to do.
I think regular contributors on here know quite well who the regular "negative posters" are -as for the Nod poster-you are a total ar.e-beyond reason. I suggest you stay in the "North"with your stupid comments. |

Sorry Mark, if you are refering to my posts I was just pointing something out. Yes it is sarcasm, in a joke manner. I like him being like it as he dosn't take anything serious, but some listeners just don't like it. It's a message board to make comments , if you like or not.. |

Really enjoyed the interview/banter between Richard and Denise on Wednesday's show-indeed will Denise get Richard to run in the City to City 10k run in June-I think she probably will.
What impressed me further was Richard then interviewed Claire Teal about 30 minutes later in the Wednesday afternoon show-a much more serious type of conversation took place here etc.
Great flexibilty shown by one Richared Allinson here etc.
Does a TV calling come to mind here for Richard-move over Terry maybe. |

I wonder if the warning at 4.55pm " It's worryingly getting close to 5 o'clock" was a warning to either re tune out or stay tuned? |

Mark O-Clearly to stayed tuned I would suggest.
Is Richard still not a judge re the Sony awards etc.
Richard is incredibly loyal to the various shows/presenters on BBC Radio 2. |

I think you will find that's part of his regular "DJ speak" routine that annoys me a lot. People dont talk like this in the real world. What does it mean? Nothing. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Most of Richards saying are from his Capital Radio days.
Mark I doubt Richard is lined up to take over a Now and then chat show. So what you mean " Move Over tel? Hello!! Terry has signed two more years!!! |

Therein lies my problem with him. Capital Radio in the 80's might have been cool, but it a naughties revival doesnt work. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

It's a reminder for me to retune when I hear the news jingle, although I might just venture a listen for a few minutes. _________________ Geddon
