This line says it all really. I've never heard Mo saying anything like this - obviously the British public enjoy Tim's show. (Unless there were a lot of complaints.)[/quote] _________________ Fred Hart

I caught about half an hour of the show and was pleasantly surprised. Usually I can't bear to listen to MoDutta, but I wondered who this fellow was!
Very good. But of course he has the master to thank for his training.... |

Why did Pete Mitchell do a full hour on short people this morning? Why dont people ever ask for stories about tall people? What's next, red hair? People with glasses maybe. Or people that say eeerrr a lot ? _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Tim Smith is the third Mitchell Brother......
He's usually on the Big Show with Steve Wright.... they don't get many texts or phone calls on the Big Show, the ones they do read out, have been made up anyway, so the half a dozen or so he got this morning would have looked like a lot to him..... |

I was pleasant to hear Tim Smith this morning. At least he dosn't talk like Mo does. I do think Steve and Tim do have similar broadcasting personalities regarding the way Tim comes out with similar words like Steve does. |

Tim has been a broadcaster for years. He used to work on BBC Local and Radio 1 weekend early show. I think he worked at Londons Magic / Melody ( named at that time ) afternoons before Steve took over R2 weekday afternoons from Ed. I'm sure there are two well known Tim Smiths who work in Radio in the UK? |

... and he committed the cardinal sin of talking all over the intro to that classic tune "Miss Grace" by The Times. That is unforgivable. |

He was back again this morning was Tim Smith. At one stage he even claimed that the programme had a producer. Money for old rope that job....
Oh and some anecdote about watching the Grand National at his golf club. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

I dont know why some people get so up tight about reading out texts and emails. This is to get to the listeners to interact with the shows. |

I find it incredibly boring listening to the drivel about how someone is travelling somewhere or sat in a queue at a car boot sale etc etc.
too many DJs just read it out, no imagination, no entertainment just a service to listeners.
and too many DJs make it a main stay of the show
This is national radio , leave this interacting rubbish to ILR. |
