Heard the trailer for the new Radders & Maconie show starting next week, I think, after listening to them together on Mark's show, a few weeks ago, it is no surprise to me. I thought that their banter and music knowledge made them a natural pairing, I cannot believe that auntie is doing this, but hey what the hell it should make great radio. What do other posters think?

I'll reserve final judgement until I listen to it, or until I've listened to it for a few weeks, and then see how they get on over a longer period than the occasionally pairing. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

I heard them together at New Year(?) but as I like Stuart and can only stand Mark Radcliffe in extremely small doses I'm not enthralled at the new schedule. As I don't tend to listen to radio much at that time so nothing lost.
Seems R2 isn't really my station these days in fact I'm hardly listening to any radio at all.

My sentiments entirely, Helen!

Hi Ella,
It's good to know it's not just me. I thought I was fast turning into a grumpy old woman!
It's got to the stage that when I hear a song that is just awful I think 'oh it'll be one from the playlist!' which seems to be a lot bigger than it used to be!

Helen, ella,
I'm afraid I agree with you. There's not much on R2 to listen to lately. Right now, Terry is finishing and I can hear "er...Dermot...er...O'leary....er on the...er radio" - too much erring for me!
I'm more switching off than on. Stuart still has a good show on Sat but like Helen, I rarely listen at that time of day. _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

At least we have a few nets to cover Dermot in and tune to another station smooth london from 10 with Mark G.
Dermot still sounds like he's hiding behind a wall talking and whilst hiding from someone. |

I've been a bit like that this week as well. I've heard Jeremy's show at work, then it's 6 music till 7:00. Then, depending on what the subject is, I'll listen to whatever specialist show is on R2. _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

I find myself listening to a lot more radio these days-far more than I ever used to.
Sadly very little of my listening time is with Radio 2-I much prefer stations like Planet Rock, BFBS Radio 2, Smooth (if I am at work) and the reformed Radio L.
I will however make a point of giving the new Messrs Radcliffe and Maconie show a listen-I think it will be good. |

Oh yes, there's lots of other radio stations to tune in - but I find myself going to non-music ones more and more. I'm just fed up of the same songs going round (and Smooth are one of the worst offenders for this). |

In some ways it's a good thing. I don't really like either of them , so putting them on together means just ruling out one show instead of two. |

What happened to Steps 2 through 13? Do they just get forgotten in the rush to 'shoot you up in the main line'? _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Hiya...
they are a couple of lines from a track by the Alabama 3 called Hypo Full of Love ....... it's a fab track .... I love it!...... not enough room in the signature block to get it all in though.....
I do try ( not every time but mostly) to include a " relevant" line from a song , movie, poem or book in each of my posts ( not including the signature) but I don't think anyone has noticed ( some of them are quite obscure and well hidden).. It's fun for me if nobody else........... No digging! Where's the fun in that?
I hear you ask. |

Hi Julia, I don't see any reason that the Saturday show is going, unless RA is coming back to raise the listening figures
