This week's Clown Playing Hamlet award must go to Maxine Peake (Twinkle from Dinnerladies) portraying Mrs. Page in this! She played her as a younger Miss Babs from Acorn Antiques.
Lex Shrapnel (rivals Eliza Doolittle on the nepotism stakes - he's Deborah Kerr's grandson) took the part of the silly ass husband who went off to play golf on her birthday. Everybody Loves Raymond would have wrapped the storyline up in 22 minutes minus adverts.
I wouldn't normally go and see a play written by Terence Rattigan, but this was on the schedule for my theatre group. _________________ We are loonies and we are proud!
