Does anyone happen to know wha Derek Jameson is up to these days.I've done a bit of research on the net and he doesnt seem to have been active at all for the past several years, and I havent seen him on tv or radio for many years either.Does he have dementia or something perhaps. He is 77 now so that is a possibility. |

Oh dear,
Not enough celebs dying so Iain is hoping the elderly ones all have dementia
It's the Ross/Brand level of humour to expect these days.
Doesn't matter what response you give to iain, he loves it. |

If Derek Jameson's dad's anything to go by, he should be OK - he used to live in the same housing block as my gran about five years ago....he was very proud of his son's achievements! _________________ "....you're wearing a plywood bow tie with Dundee United on it?" |

I dont know but he's trying to kill off a few over on the R1 MB, although they look fit and well. Or is that he's trying to make out he's the boss and trying to run R1? |

I think the sick one is Iain and the sooner he recognises that the better for him and for us |

Derek featured on the very enjoyable series The Young Ones that has been on BBC 1 the past few nights.
Delightful programme and pleased to report that Derek is as sharp as ever and his sense of humour remains intact. Him and Dickie Bird became good mates and seemed to spend most of their time laughing. |

I like Derek but it's frightening where the time goes I think it is approx 20 years since he hosted one of the first nightly chat shows on Sky 1 and the Breakfast show on Radio 2(the latter with his partner)He kindly recorded me som radio id's for my programme and the hospital radio station I was involved with for over 15 years...it was good to see him on The Young Ones...
Favourite presenter?
Oh that's so difficult, I do prefer many who no longer are with us or do programmes on the station John Dunn, Pete Murray, Kenny Everett already spring to mind...I think my list might be quite long...I am least likely to add newer presenters to my list but be more interested in what they play.
But recently I have enjoyed Bill Kenwright and Suzi Q's programmes. And I know from the Radio 2 baord recently closed those two do seem popular. |

Didn't he once do a late night show later to become Richard Allinson's slot ? _________________ Lord Evan Elpuss, Your ideal job is a Lumberjack. |

My friend Big George was the musical director, and Shane Ritchie got his first Tv break on that show. It was a really cheap show (in more senses than one) and a bit naff but I liked it! |

It was but we watched it every night, wasn't it broadcast from the Windmill? |

I seem to recall it was the Paramount, which was fitted out for TV production. I went there a couple of times when they were setting up during the afternoon.
It looked small and cramped on screen and it was even smaller in reality! |

Thanks Colin...
That sounds about right...I wonder if it was ever used for anything else?
After the nightly Sky chat show and the Radio 2 Breakfast I'd be struggling to think of anything else DJ did.
I assume he'd write books(perhaps an autobiography...)and a column or two for a magazine.
Lord is also correct that he did also do the late show on Radio 2 after his stint on the Breakfast show. |

After Jamieson's show hit the buffers (it never made any money) the Paramount was used for several "Live at The Paramount" comedy shows - again on Sky as far as I can remember - and other stuff, but it was also a theatre/club in its own right. I haven't been down there for a while but I think the place stills exists as the Paramount. |
