Unspectacular in the extreme it was, but a win's a win and it was quite an impressive one - England's cricket team have beaten the world's No 1 side South Africa at Durban, something they came close to doing four years ago, without having quite the steel to carry it through. The margin, more than an innings, is something we haven't achieved against them since 1964

Consistency is something all our national sporting teams lack, and at one time yesterday afternoon it looked as though they were playing for a draw, but solid batting from Alistair Cook and sensible bowling from Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann were all sufficient to get the better of a strangely subdued and below-par Springbok, sorry, Proteas, team.
Well done, chaps _________________ Ron |

I'd forgotten I started this thread. Lucky to get away with a series draw in the end _________________ Ron |
