Revealed in the latest Radio Times - Emma Forbes will be doing 5-7am every Sunday from 31st May. This isn't a slot that currently exists so it looks like yet another weekend reshuffle is on the cards. |

What a weird place to stick here. I wonder what will happen to Pete. |

Perhaps PM is doing Saturday and Sunday mornings say 2 to 5 am ?
The current time slot of 4 until 8.00 on Saturday for Mo and 3 until 7 on
Sunday always seemed strange. |

I guess Trevor Nelson Soul Show is being removed, and Pete is starting at 2-5am?
Can't find the info in the Radio Times Online. |

Trevor Nelson's Soul Show has been running on Radio 2 since April 2008. The show is broadcast at 10pm Wednesdays and repeated at 2am Sundays. So I'm guessing the repeat shows will be removed? Maybe this will happen with Mike Hardings show being repeated on a Saturday Morning from 3am? |

Yeah, they could just be dropping the Trevor Nelson repeat and moving Mitchell back to 3 hours from 2am.
Whatever they do, it seems a slightly odd decision. Is there much demand for a new show at that time?

It's part of the interview (in the magazine) to promote Alan Carr's show that starts this Saturday. |

Saturday
3-6am Mo Dutta
6-8am Zoe Ball
Sunday
2-5am Pete Mitchell
5-7am Emma Forbes |

5-7am sounds a bit early for my breakfast on a weekend.
Dropping a good show (even if its repeated ) for this rubbish ? |

I'm guessing Emma wants her own show if she's going to be on Radio 2 fulltime with Alan Carr? So fitting her in for Early Sunday Breakfast is the only place. Radio 1 had a weekend early show in the old days. I know they have one with Annie on a Saturday Morning 5-7am, and something else 5-7am on a Sunday. |

She has her own sung name jingle. I think they have been resung by Wise Buddah, which are similar to the Simon Mayo and Paul O-Grady ones. |

Not even Zoe Ball has her own yet - she was still using the voiced ones yesterday... but I would hope Zoe has her own soon.
If Emma's new jingle is Wise Buddah (I see no reason for it not to be, seeing as they have been doing more and more Radio 2 jingles these days) then it will probably appear on their website soon.
The Simon Mayo sung Radio 2 jingle is part of the main Groove Addicts package, not Wise Buddah's one. _________________ Fred Hart

I read it to, Mark! But the Simon Mayo one is Groove, not a re-sing by Wise Buddah.
The new Emma Forbes one is based on a cut from the Groove package and was recentley also re-sung by Wise Buddah for Paul O' Grady and Elaine Paige... I would guess that it is also is Wise Buddah (the vocals sound like Wise Buddah) but I'm not sure yet... no one's mentioned anything about it on JingleMad yet
Anyway, I'll take it back on topic by saying that I've just finnished listening to Emma Forbes' show and thought it was very good... it makes a difference to have female voices on Radio 2 early mornings for 7 days of the week now! _________________ Fred Hart

Wise Buddah is a production company. It gets other people to do its singing, surely? _________________ (signature and avatar removed, violated forum Rule 2.) |

We listened to some of Zoe ( she's pretty good) and Emma ( ok ish- we'll get used to her), not listened to RA's early shifts.
With 15 hours of Alex each week to enjoy on the Iplayer, adding a few more shows to that would make listening like having a part time job! |

Only the last 45 minutes or so, Mark.
I still record the entire show on my little box of tricks, so I can take Alex with me and listen, wherever I go. It's not I player I use. It's "My-Player".... much more flexible. .... I used to listen to Alex live though when I worked 8am-5pm but after a couple of years I'd aged like an old suitcase- so started to record him instead. I'll no doubt check-out RA on my laptop over the next few days. |

It was the lovely Lynn Parsons in for Emma last Sunday. I wonder why Emma wasn't in with Alan Carr. |

What I really don't understand is why those presenters don't want to learn the desk? Unless its management that won't allow it? |

Im sure I heard or read that Zoe Ball was in training to learn to use the desk but that was months ago! Surely it must add extra costs to the BBC to have someone sat there driving the desk while the presenter is sat opposite just talking |

Zoe did say she was learning the desk. I think it's their producers who help them run the desks. Although I have known Charles Nove sometimes helps with running of the desks. |
