Did any posters based in the North-East happen to catch a regional TV programme on Tyne Tees on Sunday evening, in which bass singer cum local treasure Graeme Danby looked at the life of one of his most renowned predecessors, Owen Brannigan? I somehow managed to miss it but am slightly cheered by a rumour that a DVD of it is coming out. Anyone see it?

Thanks, Helen.
If you're interested, I received for my birthday a CD of Graeme Danby singing Take Me up the Tyne--a set of 18 songs by local writer Eric Boswell, in some of which some other artistes also take part. Some of the songs are really LOL funny and many of the non-humorous ones are very touching. If it were to your taste, you would probably get much nostalgic enjoyment from the set. Even some of the titles might make your mouth water--the Whippet, the Longbenton Leek, Wi' Me Pit Claes On etc.
