I'm fed up with school buses. This morning I had to get Mrs FWF to the office and I had a meeting to get to and I was late. Did I make it? No.
Why? Bloody school buses. Near us is a large school campus that gets invaded by.... yep...... school buses. Big double-deckers, small single-deckers and - worst of all - those damned minibuses that should be banned altogether. I hate them! They dawdle along, not knowing where they're going and belch fumes of the back as the kids inside run riot. Honestly, it makes me mad!
Ban them, that's what I say, and make the little darlings walk. I had to walk 2 miles to school when I was only 6, so why can't they?

I have to concur. School buses are a pain in the Bob Harris. They're slow (and slow everyone else down on the roads), they park in the most inconvenient of places (sometimes blocking up roads). I love half-term and school holidays when the brats off - because the roads are empty!
I also hate the school mother brigade in their fancy 4x4s. Bloody toffee nosed wrens they are. Kids should use their legs and walk to and from school or cycle (I used to). No wonder so many kids are fat these days. |

Is there a reason why they drive at 20mph? I always overtake them! |

Public Service Vehicle..
Are you talking about Service Buses which come out of service and carry School kids? These are paid by the council. Our company is private run one and runs school coaches. I think it's a little rich saying the blow out black smoke. These buses are probarly old clapped out ones who try to run others out of business by under charging. |

I doubt it as they need a operators Licence to carry passengers. The only people who can remove them from the road are the Minstery Of Transport if the vehicles are not road worthy. They are checked on a regular basis. and spot checks at anytime, if they are found to be not in working order the company can be given a prohibition order. |

I work for a private Coach Company. We run school contracts and other contracts within the area.
I used to work on the Buses. When I first started it was London & Country, then Arriva took over and Metrobus took over the Crawley operation about 5 years ago. I would never work for a Bus company anymore unless I was desperate Those awlful customers who think they are above everyone else, no thanks.
Stick to Coaches now, easy life, less hassel and more relaxed.

So it is you that holds us back as you trundle along doing 20 mph in a school zone! I knew it! Scott was right! |
