That is dreadfully sad that he has died of the virus. He seemed to be a lovely chap and I loved The Goodies and his humour in Clue.
When we were on a sailing holiday in Spain in 1979, his mother (an ex-Roedean gal) came along too, not as a sailor but as a friend of the elderly couple who organised the holidays. She was a great character and swam in the sea every morning before breakfast. Tim looked very much like her.

Yes, very sad news. I met him once (backstage at I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue) and he was lovely. He'd been a hero of mine all my life so was delighted to find he was a genuinely nice and friendly man as well as a great comedian. |

The consensus online, that I have seen, agrees with the sentiments expressed here that Tim was first and foremost a lovely man.
So very sad that his life was cut short by this terrible disease And I say cut short as in these days he perhaps could have hoped /expected to have lived for a good few years to come.
R.I.P Tim and thanks. x |
