Saw this new movie today and it was pretty 'meh' - the plot is hokey, the characters are sketchy (at best) and it's all very predictable. Cornwall looks nice and songs (by, er The Waterboys and Glen Matlock amongst others) are fine. Could have done with more Fishermans Friend music but maybe I'm just being crazy.
The most annoying thing is the story of their 'discovery' told here is complete fiction. Daniel Mays stars as a record company exec on a stag do in Cornwall but in real life it was our own Johnnie Walker who heard them while on holiday and got his manager to sign them up. So which Radio 2 DJ gets to appear in the film?
