On Radio 4 this coming Thursday.
I have never dared watch the film but I'm going to give this dramatisation of it a go (I think)
It's on at 11 in the evening but I think I will listen to it in daytime.
In this modern classic, a priest is called in to help a 12-year-old girl who appears to be possessed by an overwhelming demonic force.

This is such a famous piece of work but I couldn't have told anyone who had written it until I saw his name (W.P.Blatty) on this webpage...Friedkin is the name I always associate with it. |

The last thing I expected was to have a smile on my face at the end of this but the last few lines of this adaptation made that happen!
I'm glad I listened without any knowledge of the story (apart from the main thrust of it) as I could concentrate on that rather than just the horrific happenings when Regan is 'possessed' which would,I'm sure, have overshadowed the rest of it if I had seen the screen version.
Enjoyed (?) this. |
