Any narrow gauge railway fans members of R2OK.
If there are you will be pleased to note that the WHR finally makes it down to Porthmadog come this autumn. |

I wouldn't say I was a fan exactly, but we seem to have kept up the "tradition", started when our son was young, of seeking out one heritage railway when on holiday - we've just been on the Lynmouth & Barnstaple (all one mile of it) and will no doubt take niece and nephew on the Ravenglass & Eskdale next month.
The WHR is well served by websites. I note that it opened as far as Hafod y Llyn in May and, depending which page you read, they hope that the final bit down to Porthmadog Harbour will open this autumn, or next Easter. It's a long and stunningly scenic journey, but not cheap - there have been grumblings about the return fare of £25 per person as far as it goes at the moment. _________________ Ron |

Not specifically narrow gauge, I like all sorts of steam railways; had a financial interest in this beastie for some years, and to my great delight sold my shares for a handsome profit, a rare occurence in railway preservation!
