Whatever you're doing tomorrow, please take a little bit of time to remember Manchester United. It's a horrible anniversary for the team--the 50th of the Munich air disaster.
In an event which shook the whole country, 8 players were amongst 23 people killed in this tragedy.
One survivor of the crash who's still living today is Sir Bobby Charlton. Not sure if there's anyone else. Spare a thought for Sir Bobby, who must surely have been haunted by this ever since.

Harry Gregg is still alive.
I was watching a program about this last night and they interviewd Bobby Charlton and Harry Gregg. Even though the accident was 50 years ago it's obvious it still effects them.
I think Sir Bobby was only 20 at the time. |

Tomorrow's ONE Life programme (BBC1 10.40 - 11.25pm) follows Harry Gregg as he "returns to the scene of the crash as part of a personal journey to meet the then unborn son of a woman he pulled from the burning fuselage". _________________ Ron |

Thanks for updating me on this. Clearly my comments apply equally to Harry Gregg.

I presume that's the same programme that BBCNI showed last night! Not often our regional programmes are worth watching but this is the exception. |
