Just back from holidays and no posts in almost a week, is everyone okay? Hope so.

Almost wish I had stayed away as I'm so fed up with it all. Sorry if that sounds selfish but I'm declaring a CV free zone and turning off everything that has it on!

Anyway just checking in to see.

I know what you mean Aitch. I don't know where you went for your hols, but maybe it's a good thing you got back home ok as it's starting to impact on air travel. Tales this weekend of Jet 2 aircraft turning back to the UK mid flight. And certain countries at present off limits. Like you, I switch off when they go on about it, trouble is that it fills at least 95% of news type programmes at the moment.

Raver we were in Florida and we travelled home Friday overnight. We would have had to return by tomorrow as it now turns out as they have bundled us in with Europe on their travel restrictions.

It was a good trip but interesting scenarios playing themselves out. First week hardly any concern (in US) about CV , apart from washing hands every 5 minutes, then last Monday during day it was 'wham bam commence CV mode' and for about 30 mins on Wed when the 'man with the brain of a 10 year old' (someone we met used the phrase and it stuck!), announced a Europe ban we thought we would be staying 30 days! Have friends in Texas who were half expecting us and we had offers of stay on a farm in Ohio from lovely couple we met this trip whose nearest neighbour is 1/2 mile away. No probs there from catching CV I suspect.

Anyway we are home and just trying to work out what we need to survive the panic. No probs wil loo rolls...... I bulk buy from CostCo and had an unopened pack of 40 in garage LOL. Gave one to next door in exchange for milk for our arrival home! I stocked freezer before we went so we had enough for a week on arrival home.

I feel really shut in here (always do when we get home from there) as out of window all I could see was a 5 mile long beach and the gulf of Mexico! Surprisingly calming I can tell you.

I got annoyed watching news last night when most of it concerned the bars closing in Belgium and Spain. Funny in US all the news was about there, maybe we (and I've always thought the opposite) should be more like that especially since Brexit?

Sorry to get political and hope everyone else is okay.! Smile

Good to hear you're back safely,Helen.

Things are really not good, but that is world wide.

I'm listening to Pick of the Pops from yesterday which is brightening my spirits a little.

NO FOOTBALL!!! Shocked

The panic buying has been ridiculous. I placed my usual order from Sainsbury's yesterday and they have no flour. I make my own bread. Luckily I have a couple of weeks worth in the freezer so hopefully it 'll be back in stock before long.

As if things aren't bad enough my central heating broke down on Friday and it wasn't fixed until yesterday afternoon. Hot water is so lovely! Smile

Maybe if we're stuck at home all day for weeks we may start listening to Radio 2 again!

They had better do something to woo back all those people they have turned off!! Hint - create a few 'coronavirus free zones' in the schedules!!

Totally agree LEE.

I happened to hear JV (part of it before I got fed up!) And David Blunkett pulled him up on his awful choice of music!

I haven't been out today (got tied up with other things as I had intended to go out) but I'm totally fed up with it all.

There is no way I'm staying indoors or even in our garden for endless weeks and months.

Hello everyone. I haven't been in here as I was away in Derbyshire, then Notts for a week's solo break. I visited some interesting places and enjoyed the freedom although it was very windy and cold at times.

No illness so far and while I was in a hotel for four days I was very careful about using a Dettol anti-vac and anti-viral spray with kitchen roll to wipe dodgy surfaces. Then I was in a Travelodge and requested no room service to avoid re-contamination.

We have enough food for a fortnight and I am certainly not going to stay indoors but will go for walks in the local parks and visit shops at quiet times if needed.

Hope all stay well.

Good to hear you are okay Eileen!

I think jet lag is making me more tetchy than usual but I'm turning off a lot of stuff and not reading the paper. Nanny state etc..........

Hello, hello, I haven’t posted here in a long time, so just to say me and Mrs W are OK. Being 67 I’m not going out much, Mrs W is a bit younger but only goes out to Asda and Aldi Smile shame we haven’t had the grandkids round for Mother’s Day. Although I’m retired I still have a one-man consultant business but work stopped 1st March. Earlier today Mrs actually said ‘ Do you want to go get some beer from Asda?’ An unprecedented suggestion! But of course it was just an excuse to look round for other stuff 😁 Hope everyone here are OK.

Not the Easter we all envisaged a few short months ago.

Hope everyone on here and families are keeping well and safe in these difficult times.

It certainly isn't Becky. No pubs or restaurants / cafes to visit, No Popham either, though I do look at their webcam with the current Airfield Closed sign clearly visible, just so I can remember what the place looks like! The only remotely good thing is that, as a 'key worker' (postie) I do get to be outside some of the time.

We are all grateful to our posties for keeping the mail going, so thank you LEE for doing your bit.

We are well and hope everyone else is too.

Just a shout out to anyone who doesn't do it but the 'Mallets Mallet' is still up and running in the quiz section. Helps keep the old grey matter turning!

Well football is back with crowd sound being played or not - the choice is yours on Sky Sports.
No goals in the first match - hopefully some will be forthcoming in the second.
I'm glad it's back, even in the form it is, but more than anything I hope everyone stays safe.
