Cannot wait for the mighty Richard Allinson's return to Radion 2 this coming Friday.
I hope Lesley Douglas will be rolling out the red carpet for him. I wonder what she has bought Richard by way of a Christmas present.
Perhaps Richard's return to R2 should be accompanied by a drum roll at 7.30pm.
Richard Allinson rocks. |

I agree. I wont be up before 10 when Terry is off so I personally dont care who they have on.
Since it is the season of goodwill, etc I'm glad Mark is happy. I'll say no more about his opening post _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Yes, I'm happy that Mark is happy too, but as I'm off all next week it will give me a chance to laze around in tne mornings without resorting to listen again later in the day. |

What a great show delivered by Richard today on Radio 2. Good choice of music played.
Interesting comment he made during the show to explain why he was wearing a suit-I'm going in for some career talks later". Wonder what he was really referring to.
Hopefully he was referring to some more radio work for Radio 2 in the future.
Richard Allinson rocks. |

Excellent show this morning, I listened on my little scanning radio as the firms computer does not support the audio feed. Very much looking forward to more of the same from Tuesday _________________ Geddon

Sorry but I thought it was a bit boring, I found some of the music a bit too slow, glad you 2 enjoyed it though.
I don't dislike Richard and I hope he comes back to radio 2 one day.

Richard Allinson will be covering for Terry Wogan next week-cannot wait.
Richard has to be a would be candidate to take over from Terry full time when Terry decides to retire-I presume this is still scheduled for sometime in 2007.
Richard Allinson rocks for the BBC. |

It is Scott-like you I am not a Sarah Kennedy fan at all-far from it.
Indeed with Richard covering for Terry's show just now it means his daily BFBS show is not going out live-he is having to prerecord them.
Still Richard starts abrand new show on Radio Oxford starting tomorrow at 12 o'clock midday-from the details provided it is going to be a similar show to the BFBS one in format, music played.
Quite why Lesley Douglas and her colleagues cannot get Richard back full time to Radio 2 is still somewhat frustrating-his new show on Radio Oxford would have been well suited to Radio 2 imho.
My suggestion would have been be to cut Jonathan Ross's show back by 1 hour ,to scrap the comedy hour and have Richard on instead followed by the excellent Stuart M. |

Ernie-In your earlier post on this thread you said you would not be listening as you would not be up until 10am.
As Richard finished his show at 9.30am did you tune in via the Listen Again feature then. |

No this is the one day I was/ will be as I have to work today. My opinion of the show is the same as usual which is that it is AVERAGE and UNREMARKABLE.
I dont say that it is awful, just not special IMHO. _________________ His name was ernie ........ and he drove the fastest milk cart in the west..... |

Good to see Richard getting a 2.5 hour slot each weekday morning while filling in for Terry Wogan next week.
I wonder when Terrry decides to retire whether Radio will revamp the length and scheduled timing of the breakfast show.
Personally I would like to see a 3 hour show go out from 6.30-9.30pm-the existing breakfast show starting at 7.30am is a joke-far too late to start. |

What a silly Roger Royle mentioning on Jeremys show live with BFBS 1-2pm today ( Friday ) about Richard working on BFBS, and Roger said he heard him this morning on Radio 2. Jeremy and the other lady said "you shouldn't of said that." |

Richard Allinson has read out my name a few times-once on Radio 2 and twice on Radio Oxford.
It's a great feeling when your name read out-I was so sad I played the Listen Again feature to hear it a few times!
I have to confess also that Ed Stewart read my name out also when I was about 12 on Radio 1-Children's favourites or something.
Confession over.
PS-Richard Allinson is back on Radio 2 from Boxing Day for a whole week starting at 7.30am-yippee |

Listened to RA this morning, really enjoyed the show, just the right antidote to the grey day outside. I am off all week so will be listening to RA or KB when I eventually surface . Listened to a little of KB to, he always makes me smile and plays some crackin tracks

Despite Richard mentioning he had only 4 hours sleep before this mornings show I thought he delivered an excellent 2.5 hours of great entertainment today.
A much better performance than last Friday-much more upbeat.
Great choice of music played and great interaction with the listeners.
I wonder if his producer has got a new fridge yet.
Richard Allinson rocks. |

Yep, definitely enjoyed his show this morning - will have to Listen Again tomorrow as I'm back at work (for one day only!).
Did he say 'Bobbie Pryor, 5 Live Travel' at one stage, though? (I might have been half-asleep when I heard this....)

Interesting to see that Richard has brought a few of his BFBS jingles to the breakfast shows this week on Radio 2.
I do think the BBC need to spend some money in updating the current jingles-some of them sound very dated especially the travel ones. |

Are they only the BFBS jingles? The voice over girl sounds like the one who does trailers for the network? They do need a slight updating, but I suppose they do cost a lot of money and mind you the BBC need to keep all there hard cash for the celebritys we keep hearing on 2..
Oh nice pre-recording of Rich I heard on BFBS this morning. So looks like his contract is with the BBC Radio 2, so he has to work for them and pre record BFBS. |
