You're doing it again! What is "voice-tracking"? |
Voice tracking is a technique employed by some radio stations to produce the illusion of a live disc jockey or announcer sitting in the studios of the station when one is not actually present. |

Whilst BBC Radio 2 don't appreciate Richard that much I guess we should be pleased that BFBS Radio do, as some of the features you mention feature on his daily BFBS Radio 2 show.
Sadly the Wall of Sound does not feature-I wish he would bring this feature back. |
Cheers, Mark - hope you had a great time on hols, sounds like it. yes, I'm glad some features migrated to BFBs. Unfortunately, we've had a bit of a clampdown over internet useage at work (some idiots going onto innapropriate sites spoilt it for everyone) so can't listen live. However, that's what weekends are for.
Enjoy Sunday's show, Mark. _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

Good show. He's still around. I doubt he will be taking over from Johnnie, but a good choice to cover him.
Hope to hear him back soon on two? |

Yes a good show Mark, still prefer Johnnie, but RA is an excellent stand in while Johnnie's away.

Excellent show by Richard Allinson today-thought he was in top form and he certainly seemed to enjoy the opportunity to be back on Radio 2.
Lets hope its not too long before we hear Richard again on this station.
Allinson rocks. |

Caught some of it (how did I guess he would be playing something from the Eagles' new album? ) - enjoyed what I heard, will try to catch up on the rest via Listen Again this week. _________________ Author: “To the Ends of the Earth: A Snapshot of Aviation in North-Eastern Siberia, Summer 1992”

Chersk, Mark. It was a fine show, thie interview with Gabrielle (that right spelling?) was very natural. Got a mention and I think that was our Helen as well, and I also heard a Scott get mentioned....was that ours? _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

Ah. You mean a pre-record then? You're using there term to apply to any situation where a V/O is recorded in iso. A voice track is a linear track that's assigned to voice (or voices) on a Pro Tools (etc) Timeline. |

Well done Andy for getting a mention on Richard's show yesterday. Heard Helen's mention as well-indeed did Scott Nelson get a mention as well.
For avoidance of doubt none of yesterday's show was pre-recorded. |

Agree.
Just wish Richard was on Radio 2 more often-he's so much better than many of the regular presenters imho. |

Nicely put, young Rachel. A great show, he did say after your mention something about the internet stalkers being in so he had to get it right!
8891fm Richard Allinson bbc radio 2 - should be heard everyday!! _________________ Some say he once threw a microwave oven at a tramp and that all his potted plants are called 'Steve'.....all we know is, he's called 'The Stig!'. |

I just been listening to it (via Listen Agin) in place of the rubbish that's broadcast from 5.00pm onwards Mon-Fri and I am reminded of what R2 could sound like every Drivetime! |

Stalkers - what do you mean
I think most of us loyal listeners got a mention!
Was unfortunately a captive audience to the last 20mins of tonight's Drivetime - CE was copying SW and singing stupidly over the end of records. Very irritating - at least I can listen to Richard on BFBS at that time normally!

I was passenger in a Ford Mustang ('64 model I do believe) driven by Jack Brabham once, I'll have you know. I've loved Mustangs ever since. And Ford Thunderbirds. I can pretend I'm a West Coast surfer boy when I'm in my mate's T'bird! Wahey! |

I don't think I did, Mark - not that I listened to all of Richard's show yesterday because I was pre-occupied doing various tasks around the house.
